A little disappointing that the seams began to split open in different places after only one week of use.

My husband bought these shoes and he says that they are comfortable, seem very well built, and go well with any pair of jeans. They are a bit expensive, but you do get what you pay for. He doesn't use them for anything excessive like hiking or constantly in water. He's just your typical office worker who likes nice, comfortable shoes for the trips to the mall, store and outside around the house or the neighborhood.

My husband can't keep from ruining a pair of sneakers, boots, slippers, etc. for more than a couple of weeks. So far these sneakers are still in tact and are even clean. Because he goes through shoes so quickly, he won't spend any money on a good pair that provide the support he needs with his bad knees and back. He couldn't believe I got such a good deal on the price. His new walking shoes are now the shoes he reaches for first thing in the morning.

I bought these shoes in early 2007 to hike around New Zealand and Australia for a month They worked great, especially in those rocky areas where it would have been easy to turn an ankle. They also look so nice that they were the only shoes I took on this trip due to airline baggage weight restrictions. I have been using New Balance shoes for years, usually the 990 series. The difference is that these MW965 shoes must be broken in before hiking for miles whereas 990s can be wore instantly. With this in mind, if I ever wear these out I will buy a new pair.
Good choice for all day walking November 17, 2008
The shoes arrived several days before a trip to Turkey. Took 3 days to walk in them before boarding a plane. Once in Turkey wore them all day every day. Walked all over Istanbul with no discomfort. These have proven to be a great walking shoe. Haven't found anything about the shoe that I didn't like.
