Product Description Ideal for high mileage road runners who overpronate, the New Balance Men's MR858 Running Shoe supports the foot with a high-tech blend of cushioning and support. The Stability Web and Extended Web arch support system extends into the medial heel area, providing a substantial platform that encourages the foot to roll in a much more neutral manner. Extensive cushioning makes for a smooth ride. In fact, a full length Abzorb pad with special Abzorb SBS heel cushion, a non-cellular elastomer, do the job without performance altering compression. It's resilient enough to aid the pronating runner, yet soft enough to eliminate underfoot soreness. The New Balance MR858 Running Shoe includes 360 reflectivity for superior low light visibility.
Amazon.com Product Description With its ABZORB cushioning and Strobel Board, ACTEVA midsole, and removable, anti-microbial Ortholite insole, this running shoe from New Balance may be the most comfortable, shock-absorbing shoe you've ever worn. It's also lightweight and breathable, and offers enhanced nighttime safety from its reflective material.

Love it! August 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I only use them for training. Wore the 856, 857, and now the 858. The 858 is the best of them. At least they are keeping this line intact. Otherwise, I would have to search again.
Great, but not perfect July 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use this shoe because gait analysis found that it was the most suitable for me. Slight knee injury cleared up quickly and never returned (3 years including its predecessor, 857). This model is more comfortable and the webbing is stronger than the 857s, which had a tendency to tear after a few hundred miles. One of the lace straps broke shortly after buying my first pair of the 858s. My second pair felt fine when I put them on, but required a lot more breaking in than previous shoes.
New Balance 858 June 26, 2008 As a loyal New Balance customer, I'm happy with the update. I pray this shoe is never discontinued.
best of the line June 7, 2008 Have been running in shoes from this line since the 851. (I have tried others, but keep coming back to this line for general training/running.) The 858 is the best of the line. Definitely a solid sole with good support but still feels like a running shoe built in part for speed. Recommended.

The shoes were falling apart in a week of use. I would not reccomend them.
