I never received the item ordered. I was given a refund because the item was no longer available. Why was it even on the website if in fact it was no longer available? At least I was given a prompt refund.
Long lasting comfort January 19, 2008 I just purchased my second pair after 5 years of hard use on the first ones. When spit-shined, look similar to my military dress shoes but are way more comfy and are easier on my back. The are also pretty stable too. I have bad ankles and these keep me from rolling them. I will continue to buy these for years to come.
Shoes January 18, 2008 Comfortable shoe and great for people who have problems walking but do not want to wear the look of an orthopedic shoe

When I was but a lad, we bought shoes for me at Chester's Boot Shop in Roseville, Michigan. Chester's was not a fancy place, but neither was it a discount place. They aimed to carry quality shoes at competitive prices, with excellent service. That usually meant, for me, Florsheim shoes, and I was never disappointed. I looked forward to my yearly visits, to replace last year's still-good but now-outgrown shoes.
Fast-forward more than thirty years, and I found myself in need of new shoes. I am a quadriplegic, use a wheelchair, and shoes last me a good long time. They do, eventually, wear out, however, from banging into things and using my feet to push doors open. My shoes were about twenty years old, and no amount of cleaning, polishing, and buffing, could make them look good anymore. I visited a few local shoe stores, and had to come home, to recover from sticker-shock.
I went on-line, did some shoe-hunting, and discovered, to my glad surprise, that Florsheim was still in business. Some on-line research showed that they had undergone quite a bit of change, and had now become, mainly, an on-line merchant. I examined several pairs of shoes, on-line, of differing brands, but the Florsheim Nobles matched up well against any of them, in appearance, apparent quality, and price. They also included a wide range of sizes, and my 7-wides are hard to find. I went with the name I trusted, from my youth. I am not disappointed, at all.
While these Florsheim Noble shoes (black, size 7 W) are not flashy or fancy, that is fine, as I was looking for neither of those qualities. What I sought was a sturdy, well-made, pair of shoes, that would fit well, cause no pressure sores on my feet, and look good enough to wear anywhere, including to work. What I found was exactly that. I have now had these shoes for about two months, they are holding up well, they are giving my feet no problems, and they do look nice, in a conservative way that fits my overall style. I was a bit disappointed that Florsheim shoes are no longer made in the United States; my pair was made in India. When I was shoe-hunting, before the purchase, the only shoes I found that were made in the United States, were made by S.A.S., but the prices were, to me (and my wallet) unacceptable.
The bottom line is that I found the shoes I was looking for and needed, and I am happy with them. There is nothing fancy about them, but I believe I will be able to wear them, in comfort, for many years.
