We purchased these shoes because of Stride Rite's excellent reputation. My own three children wore Stride Rite almost exclusively for their first 8 years or so and my grandchildren have mostly worn Stride Rite shoes as well. We were extremely disappointed when the little flashing lights in these shoes failed on the first wearing. We returned them for a prompt replacement but it has only been a week since we got them. So far the lights are still working. As a career classroom teacher, I am very familiar with the "flashy" shoes and the lights usually last for many months.
Hopefully this was a "lemon" pair of shoes and the next ones will hold up better.

I never likes the kind of shoes that had lights, they always looked tacky to me but these ones were padded and comfortable and cute on the foot so i decided not to return them. i am still not too crazy about the lights that lit up on every step so i am waiting for the battery to die.
