Tarte has always been one of my favorite makeup brands along with MAC and Urban Decay for years now. The products always have stunning colors and amazing texture and they never fail to impress. Eye shadow is probably my favorite thing to buy and experiment with so I'm a huge sucker for good palettes with interesting combinations. This time Tarte truly outdid itself and produced a real winner. Considering that when you get a double eye shadow from Tarte they charge $24 bucks for just two colors, this enormous collection of ten colors costs very little in comparison. I have been using this since beginning of July and carry it with me all the time, especially if I'm sleeping over at my boyfriend's house; I know that all my eye makeup is safely contained in this kit and I can make a wide range of different looks with it. Other than they eye shadows there is a double ended brush, very soft and luxurious that makes application easy with one flat end for sweeping all over color and rounded fat end for blending and smudging to my hearts delight. There is also a double ended pencil with grey and black pigment for drawing lines. The palette has a huge mirror inside and the outside is made of soft squishy quilted metallic man made leather with a beautiful gold lock and key ( for decoration, unfortunately you cant lock your makeup from strangers lol)
When I first tested the colors on my hand they not only felt buttery soft and rich but the different tones and hues were so distinct and pretty that I couldn't wait to use them. On the lid the lighter colors show up but just slightly less pigmented, the dark colors however are stunning and I love using the bronze and silvery dove gray for smoky eyes. On the left side the light colors are - soft peach, silvery pink, pearly pink and stunning silver that looks ethereal on inner corners. The dark colors are truly glamorous, almost as if they were dreamt up from a fairy tale. There is a sparkling taupe like bronze, gilded brass, beautiful coppery brown, dark silvery dove gray, sparkling lilac and a sparkling black. The mixing and matching is the best part, and these always look good on and I often use a liner brush and dip it in to use instead of an eye liner to draw lines that I later blend.
This is perfect for creating natural day looks or dramatic evening eyes, or if you're like me depending on what I feel like when I wake up. With this wonderful stuff, the rare lousy days feel like a complete waste of makeup haha.
