sizes are off December 20, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased these shoes for the various outdoor events I do with my cub and boy scouts. Like the first reviewer, I also found that the sizes are off. I wear a 8 1/2 shoe and found that they were tight. I realize that different vendors sometimes vary in sizes but New Balance is the brand that fits my foot most comfortably and have been wearing 8 1/2's for several years now. I first wore them to a training and got blisters from them. In my case, If I had ordered a half size larger I think they would have been fine.
Disappointing November 8, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a well-made shoe, but the sizing is off. I ordered a narrow, AA width, and my heels were still slipping out of the backs. I wore them to a weekend event and by the time it was over, my right leg had sciatic pain shooting up the back from an ackward gait. You cannot return them in used condition, so I added heel-padding inserts which help a little. But the fit still isn't great and I do not know how much I will use these. I paid the higher price a little over a month ago and now I see they are on sale. They were expensive shoes for my budget.
Also, they are heavier and more rigid than the previous model that I used for years, the 747 Country Walker.
