Well made Rockport Boots January 6, 2009 I buy a new pair of Rockport boots every 5 or 10 years. I will often get them resoled and wear them even longer. However, my favorite model was discontinued and I had to look for a new style of boot. I hesitated with the Open Adventrue boot because of the orange lacing and the gray heel. However, when the boots arrived, I put some brown shoe polish to them, after which the orange lacing vanished. The gray heel is also less conspicuous than I thought. The construction and padding are great. I also love the waterproof feature, since it tends to flood in Houston. These are very comfortable and good looking boots. I expect to be looking for another pair in 5 or 10 years.
weird bad shoes December 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
i love rockports...they're great! i actually wear a pair every day. however any shoe, boot or even sneaker, has some kind of a heel on it and the heels on these shoes are actually lower than the sole. sooooo, you feel off-balance whenever you are on your feet. they actually throw off your equilibrium! yeah, the open adventures stink. rockport should have just stayed with the old reliable westlakes.
Great boots as always from Rockport November 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just bought my pair of Open Adventure boots, my fifth pair of Rockport boots, and they do not disappoint. Very well constructed, and the cushioning was better than many similar boots priced about the same. Getting these for $55-$65 from Overstock or Amazon is the way to go. My last pair lasted me four years, and except for the cushioning wearing down and me needing some new laces, they have held up rock(port) solid. For light hiking and general rugged footwear, these boots really get the job done.
Excellent built quality and confort March 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am very happy with it. The shoes are extremelt confortable and padded. The leather is soft so you may want to seal it with water repellant product (will make it darker) to protect it from day to day use.
Comfortable and Supportive February 23, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I use them to work in and my feet and legs stopped hurting. Worth every penny. The color was a little darker than I had wanted but still a great shoe.
